The Reciprocity Program provides tuition reciprocity for students who are residents of neighboring states and provinces that have reciprocity agreements with the State of Minnesota. By completing the Reciprocity Program Application for Resident Fee Status and being approved for reciprocity resident status, students may attend public institutions in Minnesota at a reduced rate, which varies by state or province. Admission requirements are identical to those for Minnesota residents.
Wisconsin and North Dakota residents need to file for reciprocity online using the links below:
- North Dakota
- South Dakota – South Dakota residents do not need to file an actual reciprocity form. The appropriate rate of tuition will be assigned by the Lake Superior College Admissions Office upon application to the College.
- Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, and Nebraska – The Midwest Student Exchange Program (M.S.E.P.) was established as a means to reduce tuition rates for students and families. Typically, out-of-state students pay non-resident tuition, however the M.S.E.P students pay a reduced rate. All you need to do is apply for admission to Lake Superior College and indicate that M.S.E.P status is desired. The appropriate rate of tuition will be assigned by the Lake Superior College Admissions Office upon application to the college.
