Free Cybersecurity Careers Workshop Offered at Lake Superior College

Experience what individuals in the cybersecurity field do for a living and learn what career opportunities the field has to offer at a free adult Cybersecurity Careers workshop on Friday, November 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants are welcome to attend for part or all of the day’s activities, pizza will be provided for lunch.

Workshop topics and activities throughout the day include Job Outlook/Career Paths; Cyber Hygiene; Password Cracking; Internet of Things (IOT) Lab; Coding in Linux and Python and Virtual Capture the Flag.

The U.S. Department of Defense has funded the LSC Cybersecurity Careers workshop to increase awareness about the many jobs available in the cybersecurity field.

Lake Superior College  is a designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). LSC is the only two-year community and technical college in the Minnesota to earn this designation.

LSC has taken a leadership role in providing focused cybersecurity education through a number of initiatives. Lake Superior College offers a Network Administration and Cybersecurity AAS degree that is available online or on campus. It is nationally ranked as one of Top 25 best online Associate Degrees in Cybersecurity and as a Top ten most affordable online Associate’s Degree in Cybersecurity.
