Business Professionals of America Chapter Wins 46 State Medals

Lake Superior College students represented their college with excellence during the recent Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference in Rosemount.

LSC students Kendra Braegelman, Corey Burns, Jessica Carr, Ben Fernholz, Boston Foster, Kristi Gunderson, Carey Monson, Abigail Offner, Devon O’Shaughnessy, Ashley Palen, Emily Marie Ryme, Sarah Stirewalt, Doug Sundin, and Alissa Tuenge participated in the February 18-21 conference. The group won a total of 46 medals in categories including Federal Income Tax, Graphic Design Promotion, Integrated Office Applications, Medical Office Procedures, and Fundamentals of Web Design.

All 14 students qualified for the National Leadership Conference in Boston, which takes place May 5-9. At the national conference they’ll join more than 5,000 conference delegates from other U.S. colleges to participate in national-level business skills competitions, workshops, general sessions, and the national officer candidate campaigns and elections.

“The team had a very strong showing at the state leadership conference,” said LSC business faculty member and chapter advisor Barb Struck. “Competing at the national conference as a complete team will be a fitting culmination of all the work they’ve done this year.”
