Too Young, Too Old, or Just Right?! Rewriting the Script on Aging.

Spoiler alert: aging isn’t something that happens “later”—it’s happening now. And we’re in the midst of a longevity revolution- research shows that half of today’s 5 year olds will live to be 100. Yet, our beliefs about aging, social institutions, economic policies and social norms need to evolve to accommodate this new age of aging.

This lively session invites us to unpack the myths and messages we absorb about age every day. Ageism- the prejudice, discrimination or stereotyping on the basis of someone’s age- affects all age groups but often targets older adults.

Presentation by Georgia Lane, Director of Aging Initiatives at Eco3.
