President Message for November 3, 2026

As we enter November and approach the holiday season, I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the extraordinary dedication you bring to Lake Superior College every day. This fall has asked much of our college community, and through it all, your commitment to our students, to one another, and to our mission has remained steadfast.

Recent communications from Minnesota State have provided greater clarity about the Strategic Realignment process and the work that will unfold over the coming year. I am pleased that Lake Superior College will have be represented in these conversations. I have been asked to serve on both the Long-Term Strategies Taskforce and the Allocation Model Redesign Workgroup, and Tim Brandon will also represent LSC on the Allocation Model Redesign Workgroup. This gives us an important opportunity to bring forward the perspectives of our college and our region as this work progresses.

While we cannot know exactly where every conversation will lead, we can approach the future with confidence rather than fear, with curiosity rather than uncertainty, and with a willingness to help shape change rather than simply respond to it. We will continue to advocate for our students, our employees, our programs, and the critical role LSC plays in northeastern Minnesota.

As Thanksgiving and the holiday season approach, I hope each of you finds time to pause, reconnect with the people who matter to you, and take pride in the difference you make. I am deeply thankful for this college community and for the talent, care, resilience, and heart you bring to our work.

Thank you for all you do for our students and for one another. I am grateful to be on this journey with you and optimistic about what we will accomplish together.
