Student Learning Assessment at LSC
Assessment of student learning at LSC is overseen by the Academic Assessment Committee (AAC). The AAC is comprised of the academic deans, faculty members, staff and chaired by the Vice President of Academic & Student Affairs.
The mission of the Academic Assessment Committee (AAC) is to improve student learning by advocating, supporting, and documenting academic assessment of course, program, and college-wide learning outcomes. This work is important for two defined purposes: to improve student learning and to satisfy compliance requirements by the Higher Learning Commission (i.e., to prove that we are focusing on those ongoing improvement efforts).
The general principles and philosophy of student learning assessment at LSC are concisely stated in the Learning Outcomes Assessment Primer.
