Robots Put to the Task in LSC Team Competition

Robots designed and built by four LSC Integrated Manufacturing student teams will be put to the competitive task on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. in the robot cage at LSC’s Downtown Center, 120 N. Second Avenue West, Duluth.

The event is free and open to the public.

“The event showcases original robot design by students as well as demonstrating different team approaches to mechanical challenges,” said Integrated Manufacturing Engineering CAD Technology faculty member Rich Kresky,

The robots will be challenged to transport four small containers from location A to location B in the shortest amount of time possible while following a required sequence of picking up containers and traveling through an obstacle course.

Past robotic task challenges have included moving ping pong balls, buckets of sand and raw eggs through obstacle courses.
