LSC Students Win 23 National Awards at the BPA Conference

Lake Superior College business and computer students were recently recognized with twenty-three national awards, including three first place awards for Medical Office Procedures, Diagnostic Coding and College Accounting, at the Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Leadership Conference in Dallas.

“Our top students did very well competing on a national level,” said BPA chapter advisor/business faculty member Barb Struck. “It was the culmination of a school year’s worth of business skills education, training and hard work.”

Eleven LSC students joined more than 7,000 conference delegates and competed in national-level business skills competitions, workshops, general sessions, and national officer candidate campaigns and elections.

LSC students received the following awards and also earned 15 finalist places.

LSC provides more than twenty specializations in business and computer career training and education, including certificates, diplomas and two-year degree options.

Business Professionals of America (BPA) is a national organization for college, high school, and middle school students preparing for careers in business and information technology. The organization’s activities and programs complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of the skills learned at school.  Business Professionals of America acts as a cohesive agent in the nationwide networking of education and business and industry. BPA is contributing to the preparation of world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills.
