LSC Nursing Programs Granted National Re-Accreditation

Lake Superior College has received formal notification from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) that LSC’s Practical Nursing and Professional Nursing A.S. degree programs have been granted re-accreditation through 2025.

Approximately 150 students graduate from LSC’s nursing programs every year. LSC’s AS nursing programs were initially accredited in 2012 with the practical nursing program accredited in 2014.

“Our entire campus and our local health care clinical partners played a role in making this continuing accreditation possible,” said Deb Amys, LSC’s director of nursing. “The members of ACEN’s evaluation team were very impressed with our faculty, our students, our facilities and our industry partnerships.”

LSC’s Professional Nursing program is accepting applications until May 18, 2018 and the Practical Nursing program is accepting application until filled.

The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) is nationally recognized as a specialized accrediting agency for programs in nursing education. It accredits all types of post-secondary and higher degree education nursing programs.
