Lake Superior College will resume on-campus courses this fall semester, which begins August 24. LSC will be delivering instruction and services both online and in person (within the limitations established by Executive Order 20-73 and consistent with the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System guidelines, Minnesota OSHA Standards and the Minnesota Department of Health, as well as under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention health, safety, and operational guidelines). Fall semester will be a combination of on-campus, online and blend/hybrid courses. Students who are registered and/or will be registering should check their online portal, D2L, as well as their email for updates from instructors and/or advisors as it gets closer to the start of fall semester.

“Schools within the Minnesota State system, including LSC, were officially informed on Tuesday that we can resume on-campus courses this fall semester,” said Daniel Fanning, Vice President of Advancement and External Relations, who oversees enrollment management at Lake Superior College. “We actually have some students on our campuses now this summer who, once we were given permission by the State, have been able to make up the time lost this spring when we weren’t allowed to conduct on-campus classes due to the pandemic. We have been able to demonstrate that we can do it right, do it safely, use physical distancing and other safety precautions, and continue to support students both on campus and online. Now we’re excited to continue that into fall semester so students have even more options. It’s been great seeing some select students return to campus this summer, and we’re excited to welcome even more new and returning students to Lake Superior College this fall.”

LSC’s main campus is now open, with limited hours, and offers services both on campus and online. New and returning students can meet with advisors, financial aid specialists and others within the Student Services department from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, as well as schedule virtual meetings throughout the day. On campus tours have also resumed, with some restrictions and safety precautions. To view a complete list of services available on campus and online, as well as all the latest COVID-19 related updates, please visit www.lsc.edu/coronavirus.

Lake Superior College has waived the application fee through June and new students can apply for free at www.lsc.edu/apply.
