Lake Superior College Foundation 17th Annual Golf Outing Raises over $20,000 for Student Scholarships

The Lake Superior College Foundation’s 17th annual golf outing on Wednesday, August 8, raised more than $20,000 for student scholarships. Held at the Nemadji Golf Club in Superior, Wisconsin, the event featured a round of golf, a helicopter ball drop raffle courtesy of Lake Superior Helicopters, live broadcasts by KQ95, a steak dinner buffet and a short program.

“Thanks to the generous support from our community partners, we had a very successful and fun event all to help support LSC students and our community’s future workforce,” said LSC Foundation Executive Director Daniel Fanning. “We really appreciate everyone who helped make it such a successful event including all of our sponsors, everyone who attended for golf and/or dinner, our talented staff and board members, and the entire team at Nemadji for being such outstanding hosts.”

AAR was the title sponsor. Other sponsors included Allete, Black Woods Group, CSI, Epicurian, Flint Group, Hallberg Engineering, HMI, KBJR 6, Jamar, Lake Superior Consulting, Lake Superior Helicopters, LHB, Midwest Communications, Nemadji Golf Course, Northwood Children’s Services, and Walstrom Heating & Cooling.

All proceeds from this event help fund scholarship opportunities for Lake Superior College students. Last year, LSC Foundation provided over $340,000 in direct student support through scholarships, grants, and emergency interest-free loans – the highest annual amount ever awarded by the Foundation. Events like the annual golf outing help make that increased and much needed financial assistance possible. LSC Foundation is currently in a multi-year capital campaign to increase capacity to support even more students and continue to help address our community’s workforce needs.
