Joe Tribbey Named Emergency Response Training Center Director

Joe Tribbey has been named Director of Lake Superior College’s Emergency Response Training Center (ERTC). Tribbey had recently served as interim director of the ERTC. He also has taught in LSC’s fire technology AS and AAS degree programs since 2013, where he provided instruction and advisement for students and for rural fire departments in the region through LSC’s Customized Training division.

Tribbey will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the facility’s firefighting and emergency response training. The ERTC provides hands-on education and training for fire technology careers, including fire fighter, fire science and administration, fire medic and wildland firefighting as well as emergency response technician (EMT).

He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in fire and emergency response management from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and an Associate of Applied Science in fire technology and administration from Lake Superior College.

Tribbey is a seventeen-year veteran of the City of Superior Fire Department and currently serves as a captain at Station 2 in Superior’s North End. He is active in youth sports and serves as a board member for the Superior Youth Organization. Tribbey is also a recent graduate of the Superior/Douglas County Leadership Program.
