Feb. 8 Firefighting and Truck Driving Career Night Offers Hands-On Action

Not interested in a desk job? Hear about exciting careers first-hand from professionals in truck driving and firefighting at Lake Superior College’s Feb. 8 Firefighting and Truck Driving Career Night. Go for a ride in a semi-truck with a professional trucker. Learn the proper way to extinguish a fire. Witness a trauma simulation call with EMTs. Check out LSC’s fleet of firefighting and trucking rigs.

The free Firefighting and Truck Driving Career Night will offer these hands-on experiences and more from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wed., Feb. 8 at LSC’s Emergency Response Training Center, 11501 Highway 23, Duluth.

Faculty and students will give tours of the program facilities and equipment.  Advisors will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about financial aid, transfer, and other service areas.  Representatives from trucking companies will be on site to talk job opportunities.

Other upcoming Career Nights include a Wed. Feb. 22 Aviation Career Night, and a  Wed., March 15 Integrated Manufacturing Career Night.  All events are scheduled from 5-8 p.m. and are free. Refreshments will be provided.
