About Jameson

I am an experienced art educator who has recently transitioned to teaching in higher education. While I'm from Minnesota, most recently my family lived internationally in Germany while we worked at an international school. Duluth and the surrounding area is now where we call home and I am excited to continue to learn the ins and outs of living in this part of the state and to build community here.

What do you do at LSC and how do you support students/community?

  • Art Instructor teaching primarily ceramics and digital photography
  • CITS mentor

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I love helping students achieve their creative ideas on their projects. Through trial and error, pushing the material and research, it is really satisfying students see all the possibilities through the medium of clay.

Education Background

Certifications/Licenses

MN K-12 Visual Art Teaching License

Hobbies/Interests

Anything art related, but specifically photography and ceramics. In ceramics, I love creating functional pieces that others can reuse and enjoy for years. In photography, I love doing landscapes and particularly astrophotography.

Outside of art, my wife and I have four younger children, so at this stage of life we are experiencing things as a family, doing hikes and helping our children learn about the world around them.
