As we settle into the rhythm of a new academic year, I’m reminded of Eleanor Roosevelt’s powerful words:
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
Each of us – student, faculty, and staff – carry dreams that shape our purpose and fuel our progress. Some are bold and sweeping, others quiet and personal. But all are worthy. Here at Lake Superior College, we strive to create a space where those dreams are nurtured, challenged and celebrated.
This month, let’s commit to believing in the beauty of what’s possible. Let’s support one another in taking the next step – whether that’s asking a brave question, sharing a new idea, or simply showing up with kindness and curiosity.
Thank you all for the heart and hope you bring to the LSC community. Your dreams matter – and together, we will build a future that reflects the beauty of your dreams.
Special Events for the Month:
- September 2 – Write a Letter to Your Future Self – Capture your hopes, dreams, fears, and desires. Check back in with the letter at the end of the semester and see how much you’ve grown!
- September 4 – CEI Student Resource Meet & Greet – Get to know all of the resources and the people who offer them at LSC. See how they can help you be successful in reaching your goals.
- September 16 – Student Series: AI and Academic Integrity – Learn how AI and Academic Integrity intersect in the academic landscape.
September 18 – LSC’s 80th Anniversary Open House and Community Celebration – Celebrate our 80th Anniversary with lots of fun activities and greet our community members and future students. - September 23 – “More than a Monolith” Latinx Heritage Month – Hear from a panel of LSC students about their rich cultures.
- September 25 – LSC Foundation Scholarship Reception – Support our LSC students who have earned scholarships and thank the donors who support them.
We have so many great opportunities to share and learn from each other. I hope to see you at these and other events this month.
