Students with documented disabilities enrolled in ANY Lake Superior College course (including extended campus’, on campus, and online) are encouraged to contact Student Accessibility Services (SAS) anytime throughout the school year or summer to schedule a meeting with staff so appropriate accommodations can be established or reviewed. Please keep in mind that it is the student’s responsibility to make accommodation requests in advance of their need as accommodations are not retroactive.

Semester Accommodation Requests

Students are responsible for completing the semester accommodation request form each and every semester for which they are enrolled if they wish to access their accommodations.  This form will be used by staff to formulate the student’s semester accommodation letter to instructors.  Any student has the right to review/discuss their approved accommodations at any time by meeting with the Disability Coordinator.

Semester Accommodation Request Form

Completing this form prior to semester ensures accommodations are in place at the beginning.  Please note that selected accommodations must have been approved at the time of student’s intake meeting or review meeting.  Once the form is complete students can email to , fax to (218) 733-7645, or hand deliver to SAS room S155.

Setting up Testing Accommodations

Please see the attached document below when utilizing testing accommodations on campus. Test proctoring is by appointment only and needs to be scheduled at least three business days prior to the exam.  It is extremely important that students schedule all proctored exams early!  This ensures proper coverage and time to communicate the request with the faculty.

Students that are taking online courses and utilizing extended time, faculty should have gone into D2L to make that adjustment.  If for some reason this has not been done, please contact the faculty to verify.

Request for Interpreting Services

Students who are deaf or hearing impaired may request a sign language interpreter for courses and campus events.  Requests for the semester should be made at least six weeks prior to the start to allow time to secure interpreting services.  The sooner the better to allow ample time.

To request Interpreting services, please call Student Accessibility Services Staff directly at (218) 733-7650 or MRS/TTY 1-800-627-3529
