Lake Superior College Offering Free Career Exploration Academies and Camps In June

Registration is now open for LSC’s Career Exploration Academies and Camps 2021, with opportunities for ages 12-18. Students can assemble robots, build computers, weld and more. Participants will learn new skills, explore exciting careers, and have fun. Camps are free and start June 14. Register by June 1 at www.lsc.edu/camps. Please note all recommended CDC guidelines will be followed regarding spacing and masking.

Robotics Academy runs June 14-17, 2021 (M-Th) from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the LSC's Downtown Center. Participants will work in teams to assemble robots using kits and onsite manufacturing tools and equipment. Recommended for ages 12 - 17.

Welding Camp runs June 14-17, 2021 (M-Th) from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the LSC Downtown Center. Participants in the camp will be introduced to welding and manufacturing through construction of assembly kits. Recommended for ages 14-18.

Computer Aided Design/SolidWorks Camp (NEW) runs June 14 & 15, 2021 (M-Tu) from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at LSC's Downtown Center. Participants will use a computer to design and draw product parts, which is one of the initial processes in manufacturing. Recommended for ages 14-18.

LSC Virtual Intro Computer Camp runs June 14-18, 2021 (M-F) and is an online virtual camp. Camp will run from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Participants will explore the basics about the ever growing field of cybersecurity and computer programming and learn how to build a computer, how to secure your computer and how to code. No experience required but a reliable computer and fast internet speed is needed. Recommended for ages 12 - 17.
