Clay Target Champion George Pappas to Coach LSC Team; Gun Club Open House to Launch New Collegiate Sport

Starting this fall semester, clay target will be offered as a competitive co-ed team sport for Lake Superior College students. Clay target champion and seasoned coach George Pappas has been hired as the inaugural coach of the LSC clay target team. Pappas brings more than 39 years of experience in clay target shooting. He has won more than 200 trophies in state, Satellite Grand and Grand American competitions. Pappas has previously coached more than seven years in the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League. He is a 31-year member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) and holds a AA/27/AA classification.

Lake Superior College will host a clay target open house on August 10 from 5-7 p.m. at the Jack Meade Gun Club in Proctor at 5329-5397 US Highway 2. Admissions will provide enrollment information. Coach Pappas will be available to talk about how students can get started on the clay target team. Equipment will be provided.
