Alpha Upsilon Gamma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Inducts 68 LSC Students

On Wednesday, March 23, 68 LSC students were inducted into the college’s local chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges and academic programs.

PTK Alumni Advisor and Guistwhite Scholar Deanna Keller shared her personal story as a member and officer in the honors society, and credited PTK with both her development as a leader and her ability to afford higher education with its scholarships. She encouraged new members to likewise become involved in PTK as officers. “Does this sound like a sales pitch?” she asked. “It is.”

Students must have a G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher in order to be eligible for membership. Membership benefits include eligibility for scholarships, publishing opportunities and leadership development programming.
