Two representatives of the Higher Learning Commission visited LSC April 2-4, 2014, to conduct the College’s Quality Checkup Visit. The Quality Checkup Visit is a major component of the Commission’s processes leading up to Reaffirmation of Accreditation. Quality Checkup Visits are intended to serve two broad purposes:
First, the reviewers assess the institution’s satisfaction of HLC’s Criteria for Accreditation, the accuracy of the institution’s accreditation documentation, and the institution’s commitment to quality improvement.
Second, the reviewers conduct a federal compliance review to ensure the institution is complying with all Title IV (financial aid) requirements, as well as additional federal regulations that HLC monitors on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education.
Prior to the visit, LSC submitted two required reports: (1) Quality Program Summary, and (2) Federal Compliance Materials.
The College received the Quality Checkup Team’s Report on its Quality Checkup Visit on June 10, 2014. The Report found that LSC has presented satisfactory evidence that it is meeting HLC’s expectations with respect to accreditation requirements, commitment to quality improvement, and federal compliance.
