Why Study Passenger Endorsement Training at LSC?

100% online, at your own pace. This training satisfies the requirement if you need a Passenger endorsement on your CDL or CLP and want to take the test at your DMV. This training meets US DOT, TSA, PHMSA, and FMCSA curriculum standards for School Bus Endorsement training, and is listed on the FMCSA’s Training Provider Registry (TPR).

Plan Your Education

Students must be able to pass and possess the following:

Forms

Theory (separate course registration)

  • Students must pass with an 80% or better

DOT physical (student responsibility, self-pay)

Permit (student responsibility, obtained at DMV, self-pay) Please study using the CDL manual and practice tests. You must have your permit for a minimum of 14 days before you can test.

Copy of driving record (student responsibility, obtained at DMV, self-pay)

Drug/Alcohol Screening (Scheduled once you send proof of DOT and permit, included in Theory course cost)

  • ePassport provided by LSC, testing at DC Testing in Superior, WI unless other arrangements are made)

Are there program restrictions for the Commercial Driving Program at Lake Superior College?

Yes. Please note that you are not eligible to drive Minnesota State vehicles if you have had ANY of the following major violations in the last five years. If the State of Minnesota Risk Management discovers you have any of these violations, you will be dropped from the Program without a refund.

  • Driving Under the Influence of Drugs/Alcohol
  • Careless Driving
  • Exhibition Driving
  • Reckless Driving/Speeding Contest
  • Driving While Impaired
  • Fleeing Law Enforcement/Peace Officer
  • Making a False Accident Report
  • Failure to stop/Report an Accident
  • Homicide/Manslaughter/Assault arising out of the use of a Vehicle
  • Driving while license is Suspended/Revoked/Canceled
  • Leaving the Scene of a Crash
  • Major Speeding (20 MPH or more over)

If there are any warrants, or unpaid traffic fines in any state, you may not be issued a CDL permit. Applicants must be 18 years old to drive intra-state and 21 years old to drive inter-state. These requirements refer to all types of driving, construction, Over the Road and DOT jobs.
