Students vs. Staff Food Drive

Your LSC Student Senate is once again hosting a Students vs. Staff Food Drive through March 1, 2024 in support of the IceHawk Pantry.

Donation Bins will be located by the main entrance, IceHawk Cafe, the S-building and H-building Entrances. 

The side with the least donations receives a pie to the face!

Items in High Need: Canned fruits and veggies, pasta sauce and noodles, sugar, flour, ramen, mac n cheese, cereal, granola bars, crackers, etc

Student Satisfaction Survey 

LSC students received email instructions on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 to take the Student Satisfaction Survey (SSI). The SSI survey is administered every spring in even years.

The survey will be available through March 13, 2024 and those who take the survey will be eligible to win an item up to $25 from the LSC Store. Winners will be notified via their LSC email if their names were drawn.

This survey as it is a key indicator in determining if LSC is meeting your expectations and needs as students.

Name A Library Cart Contest

The LSC Library invites students to help us name our book carts. Please submit your most witty, unique LSC/IceHawk, Minnesota or book-themed ideas to name our library carts.

Names like "Paul McCartney" or "Kim Cartdashian" for example.

Submissions will be accepted through Friday, March 1, 2024

Scholarship Reception February 29

Did you earn a scholarship last Fall or this Spring semester? Then join us on Thursday, February 29 at 8:00 a.m. in Hawk’s Landing for a short breakfast reception.

This will be a chance for you to meet your scholarship donor and others who support your educational journey.

You should have received an email from Ellen Oaks recently about attending, but if you missed it, please RSVP to her to let her know you’re attending or not.

The IceHawk Cafe will be closed March 4-8, 2024 during the college's Spring Break.

Graduating this spring or summer?

If you are completing the requirements of your degree, diploma or certificate this spring or summer, congratulations!

LSC will hold a Grad Fair on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. in the Commons.  This is a great opportunity to verify that you have met graduation requirements, verify “honors” status, visit with an advisor or financial aid representative, purchase your cap/gown/tassel, and more!

Don’t forget to Apply to Graduate by March 31, 2024, in order to be included in the Commencement program.

Commencement will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024, at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center.

ALL students must apply to graduate in order to have your award(s) listed on your LSC transcript.

Registration for Spring Clay Target League is Open!

Have fun in an outdoor class in the fresh spring air.  No prior shooting experience is necessary to participate. 

The course is taught by Coach George Pappas, who has a status as an All-American Shooter.  He will be inducted into the MN Shooting Hall of Fame this fall. 

In this class you’ll have the opportunity to participate in a 5-week state-wide championship.  Last season’s team placed 2nd in the Minnesota MCAC conference and 1st place in the USA Clay Target League.  To sign up, register for HPER 1409 01 Intercollegiate Trapshooting II.
