Earth Day Fair - April 17, 2024

WHAT: LSC Earth Day Fair

DAY: Wednesday, April 17, 2024

TIME: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Over 25 vendors, including agencies, non-profits, businesses, hiking & biking clubs, and some LSC organizations where students can learn about sustainability and inquire about summer employment.

• Plant & seed giveaways
• Refreshments from Student Life
• Book swap (bring your gently used books and get new to you books in return)
• Food drive for the IceHawk Pantry (bring a canned good)
• Ecolibrium3 Open House. Explore the grounds and learn what you can do!
• Twin Ports Trailer Trash for LSC faculty, staff, and students to bring in unwanted items. Excluding: electronics, appliances, mattresses, tires, TVs, gas powered items, paint chemicals and yard waste or concrete/dirt.
• A Campus Clean-Up at 2 p.m. Meet at the Student Life Kiosk. Get a prize for participating in the Campus Clean-Up. 
• A Sustainability Suggestion Box will be available to students.

The IceHawk Cafe will be closed on Friday, April 12, 2024 for Duty Day.

Scholarship Application Window Now Open

Fall semester scholarship applications are now available for students planning to attend this fall. Scholarship application deadline is  May 8, 2024.

Please complete the easy application (no reading through dozens of scholarships and trying to decide which ones fit your needs). The Foundation’s Award Spring software matches applicants with the appropriate scholarship(s). 

There is $381,000 in scholarships available for students not likely to be eligible for the new Northstar Promise Scholarship through the State of Minnesota (students with adjusted gross income under $80,000 qualify for Northstar Promise and don’t need to apply for LSC Foundation scholarships).

Budgeting Tips for Students

Affinity Plus and the Center for Equity and Inclusion are once again hosting a series of financial literacy sessions open to all students!   The last  session is Wednesday, April 24, 2024 on Transportation and Finances.  

Sessions are held in the Center for Equity and Inclusion (M125) from 12-1 p.m. and lunch is served to those who attend.

Don't Forget to Sell Back your Textbooks!

An MBS representative will be outside the LSC Store on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. to buy textbooks back from students.

Dental Hygiene Pediatric Day

LSC first-year dental hygiene students are hosting their first Pediatric Day on Monday, May 6, 2024.

Dental treatment will be provided free of charge for children under 10 years of age and younger.
