Learn How to Navigate the Winter Blues 

With the Holidays behind us and as the winter weather sets in, so does the potential impact on mental well-being. Join Amy Fullerton on Tuesday, January 16 for the first Mental Health Awareness session of the semester to explore effective tips for managing depression and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

Anyone is welcome to attend and this is a great way to learn about and understand how depression impacts us and things we can do to help ourselves feel better.

HLC Visit: 6 Weeks Away

We’re inching closer to our February 12-13 HLC Site Visit!  We are so excited to showcase our fabulous LSC people, activities, and facility.  Next to graduation events, this is one of the most important events we’ll have on campus this year.

Financial Literacy

Affinity Plus and the Center for Equity and Inclusion are once again hosting a series of financial literacy session open to all students!

Sessions are held in the Center for Equity and Inclusion (M125) from 12-1pm and lunch is served to those who attend.

Sessions include:

• Healthcare and finances (January 24, 2024)
• All things budgeting! (February 21, 2024)
• Budgeting Tips (March 27, 2024)
• Transportation and finances (April 24, 2024)

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebrations

You’re invited to participate in MLK Day events in Duluth, hosted by the local chapter of the NAACP.

Events include:

• Community worship session on Sunday, 1/14 at 4pm at Pilgrim Congregational Church
• A community breakfast on Monday, 1/15 at 7am at First United Methodist Church
• March from the Family Freedom Center (310 N. 1st Ave. W.), starting at 10:30, to the DECC on Monday, 1/15
• MLK Day Rally at noon on 1/15 at the DECC Symphony Hall.
