This list is an attempt to group events that garner various levels of time, resources, and attention from various LSC support departments. The goal is to minimize the strain of having multiple events held at the same time or very close together.

Departments that support the success of events such as Facilities, IT, Marketing, and Student Life need cooperation by event organizers so they can effectively support each event (the ticketing system is the proper mechanism for requesting support).

Often special cost centers need to be set up by the Business Office. Marketing may want to advertise, issue a press release, or create promotional materials. The Facilities department has limited physical resources like tables, chairs, and clean-up services. IT has limited audio-visual equipment and support staff. Administration desires to support events by attending or making some welcome/closing comments if appropriate.

Below are examples of the different kinds of events held on campus including a brief descriptor. These examples reflect the overall preparation and size of the event, not necessarily its importance. For example, an event on the “Targeted” list doesn’t mean it’s not important or worthwhile.
