Engineering Designer
This staff member will work autonomously with staff from multiple engineering disciplines under general direction of the Engineering Department Manager or other assigned responsible manager. Engineering Designers typically perform professional office and field design work, including design development from concept to complete detailed design for a wide range of projects.

• Prepare plans, drawings, charts, estimates, specifications and/or other documents for engineering projects using computer-aided design (CAD) software or other software systems
• Process preliminary design data to be used in various stages of design document preparation
• Collaborate with Engineers to complete design projects of with various levels of complexity
• Utilize existing computer-aided drafting (CAD) standards in the development of design documents
• Provide information and assistance to KOA staff and Clients relative to engineering projects
• Perform field measurements for validation of existing or as-built conditions
• Recommend upgrades and revisions to internal procedures and practices
• Perform other related functions as assigned

• Implement engineering principles and practices to project design
• Utilize the principles and practices of computer-aided design/drafting (CADD) systems
• Utilize CADD software to develop 3D models and drawing sets for engineering projects
• General knowledge of equipment and materials used in the construction phase of projects
• Perform mathematical calculations relative to drafting and design layout of systems and structures
• Performance of limited inspections of construction work to confirm compliance with design intent
• Effectively communicate and interact with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and clients/customers

Education: Associate Degree in Drafting or CAD Design, or two years of college course work focused in Mechanical or Structural Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline. Position requires proficiency with 3D Design Software. Experience with Plant 3D, Revit or Solid Works is beneficial.
Experience: Minimum 2 years working as mechanical or structural designer or CADD technician. Additional experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
