Notification & next steps

Acceptance letters for the Dental Hygiene program will be emailed by the end of February.

  • Accepted

If you are accepted into the dental hygiene program you must complete the required next steps for accepted students.

Not accepted
If you were not accepted, you can reapply to the dental hygiene program during a future application period. You must complete the entire dental hygiene application process again. You don’t need to reapply as an LSC student.

LSC Professional Advisors
We highly recommend you meet with a Health Sciences Academic Advisor as you begin your program and throughout to address any questions you may have.

Background check
If you have been arrested, charged, or convicted of any criminal offense, you should investigate the impact that the arrest, charge, or conviction may have on your chances of employment in the field you intend to study.

Accreditation
The program for dental hygiene is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (and has been granted the accreditation status of “approval without reporting requirements”). The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education. The Commission on Dental Accreditation may be contacted at (312) 440-4653 or at 211 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611.

Student selection
Admission to the Dental Hygiene Program is competitive.  Qualified applicants will be ranked according to their pre-program GPA; the top-ranking students will be offered admission. In the event of a tie, priority will be given to students who completed their pre-program requirements first. The minimum cumulative GPA of pre-program courses must be 3.0 or better.
