Step 3 Next Steps – Dental Hygiene Notification & next steps Acceptance letters for the Dental Hygiene program will be emailed by the end of February. Accepted If you are accepted into the dental hygiene program you must complete the required next steps for accepted students. Not accepted If you were not accepted, you can reapply to the dental hygiene program during a future application period. You must complete the entire dental hygiene application process again. You don’t need to reapply as an LSC student. 100%Accepted Students LSC Professional Advisors We highly recommend you meet with a Health Sciences Academic Advisor as you begin your program and throughout to address any questions you may have. Background check If you have been arrested, charged, or convicted of any criminal offense, you should investigate the impact that the arrest, charge, or conviction may have on your chances of employment in the field you intend to study. Accreditation The program for dental hygiene is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (and has been granted the accreditation status of “approval without reporting requirements”). The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education. The Commission on Dental Accreditation may be contacted at (312) 440-4653 or at 211 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611. Student selection Students who become LSC students and complete all Dental Hygiene pre-program requirements (including required GPA) will be admitted to the Dental Hygiene program as long as there are available seats in the program. In the event there are more students than seats available, priority will be given to students who completed their pre-program requirements first. Students are ranked by when pre-program requirements are completed and when they completed their application to LSC / declared Dental Hygiene as their program. In the event there are multiple students who completed pre-program requirements in the same term AND completed their LSC application on the same date, GPA in pre-program courses will be used as a tie-breaker.
