Below is the mission statement of this coalition:
The Tri-Campus & Community Coalition (T3C or TCCC) on Student Drinking seeks to address irresponsible and dangerous use of alcohol by students of three Duluth Minnesota higher education institutions (Lake Superior College, The College of St. Scholastica and the University of Minnesota Duluth). To meet this goal, promising campus/community programs and interventions will be identified and communicated, liaison with community citizen groups, businesses, agencies, and the press will be nurtured and working interactions with the alcohol health educators, administrators, and committees at each of the college campuses will be maintained.
Three focuses that guide the efforts of T3C:
1. Education: Work with the three campuses individually and jointly to promote and share intervention techniques intended to promote student alcohol risk reduction.
2. Enforcement/Consequences: Collaborate with law enforcement efforts and campus behavioral expectations so as to address alcohol related infractions by students through both negative sanctions and therapeutic mandates.
3. Student—Community Relations: Cooperate with neighborhood associations, businesses, and both civic and non-profit agencies in seeking ways to lessen the negative impacts of student alcohol abuse while using available resources to change student disruptive behavior patterns.
