Train for Grandma's Marathon at LSC

Take the Course for Credit, or as Continuing Education

Physical Education courses are available at LSC for students living at a distance or otherwise want to take advantage of the unique P.E. offerings through LSC online.

PE 1650: 2 credits (Course ID: 000702)
Running a Marathon: A virtual training course that covers the nutritional and conditioning information related to distance running; plus required participation in a marathon or half marathon.

NOTE: Special course dates of March 17-June 21, 2008. Registration deadline is March 21, 2008.

Enrolled students should use the normal web registration.  If you do not have an LSC student account, you can register for these courses using a Special Registration form.

In addition to tuition and fees of $167.66 per credit, there is a special fee of $50 per student. The total cost for the course is $385.32. Registration of this course at LSC provides a guaranteed entry to the June 2008 Grandma's Marathon or Half-Marathon in Duluth, MN. To maintain flexibility for distant learners, students may also complete the course requirements by training for and running a comparable race at a different location (NOTE: the special fee is charged to all students, but a guaranteed, paid race entry is only available for Grandma's Marathon Events.) Race entry forms and class login information will be mailed to students in early March. Your race entry fee is included in your LSC tuition so it is not necessary to mail an entry fee to Grandma's.

Non-Credit Continuing Education Running a Marathon.  This is a non-credit course.  $150 for tuition and fees.

Same training advice and instruction as the for-credit course, but without the college credits. Registration in this course also provides a guaranteed entry to the June 2008 Grandma's Marathon or Half-Marathon in Duluth, MN.
