Free Cyber Day Workshop for Students in Grades 6-12 Offered at Lake Superior College on February 28
Students will learn about the fast-paced world of cybersecurity and the many career opportunities available in this exciting and high-paying field.

A free Cyber Day workshop for students in grades 6-12 will be held on Friday, February 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a pizza lunch included.

Students will learn about the fast-paced world of cybersecurity and the many career opportunities available in this exciting and high-paying field. Students will explore hands-on activities and participate in a short virtual Capture the Flag competition. Activities will also include cyber safety and defense, protection against Internet of Things (IOT) devices, basic scripting and robot programming.

Held at Lake Superior College’s main campus, led by LSC’s Computer Information Systems Department, and sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense, the workshop is designed for students grades 6-12 who have an interest in technology, networking, programming and cybersecurity.

The U.S. Department of Defense has funded the LSC Cyber Day workshop to increase awareness about the many jobs available in the cybersecurity field.

Lake Superior College  is a designated National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). LSC is the only two-year community and technical college in Minnesota to earn this designation. It is nationally ranked as one of top 25 best online Associate Degrees in Cybersecurity and as a top ten most affordable online Associate’s Degree in Cybersecurity.
