You know those random news papers you see in a neat stack in various area in the school? That’s MSCSA’s official newspaper. It’s a valuable read for anyone attending a MN community or technical college. You can find them right next to the Reader’s and Bus Guides at the bottom of the stairs next to the library.

Your student senate here at LSC advocates for you on a State and even Federal level. This is made possible through an organization called MSCSA, Minnesota State College Student Association. Once a semester, LSC and every other two-year technical and community college in Minnesota meets at what is called General Assembly. It is a four day event. This Fall semester 2012 it took place at The Hilton in Minneapolis. At General Assembly the students representing our college attend multiple workshops in order to learn how to better serve you, the students, on our campus. In addition to attending workshops student senate members also listen to various speakers and have open discussion on issues affecting Minnesota technical and community college students.

Once a month LSC student senate attends what are called regional meetings. We are in the North Central region. The other colleges in our region include,
•Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College
•Central Lakes College-Brainerd
•Central Lakes College- Staples
•Pine Technical College
