The Learning Center provides tutoring and other academic resources to LSC students at no cost. You can drop-in, schedule an appointment, or call for tutoring. We have professional and peer tutors available and small study groups are welcome. Stop in and check out our small study rooms.

Math & Physics

The Math Lab is located in E2330 and the Physics Lab is located in E2348. We offer tutoring in all levels of algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, as well as finite math, differential equations and physics. Additionally, there is access to Graphmatica and Mathmatica on the computers.

The Science Lab is located in E2360. In the Science Lab, we have skeletons, muscle, brain, and torso models, microscopes and slides. We also have study groups for classes, such as, introduction to cell biology.

We offer tutoring in all levels of biology, allied heath courses, astronomy, chemistry, environmental science, as well as, the social sciences, such as, philosophy, psychology, and sociology.

We encourage students to form study groups for any course. These study groups may be student led or facilitated by a professional tutor. Please ask for details.

The Writing/Composition Lab is located in E2366.  Composition tutors work with students in all English classes as well as any classes that require essay writing or research papers (MLA and APA). The tutors do not edit papers but do work with students on all levels of writing including brainstorming, paragraph and essay structure, research papers, plus the mechanics of writing.

Composition lab tutors suggest that students make appointments to be guaranteed 30 minutes of tutor time.
