How do I register for a Continuing Education course?
There are 5 easy ways to register with us:

Do I need to apply to the college to enroll in a Continuing Education Course?
No.  These courses are for non-degree seeking students and registration is done by the Continuing Education Department located on the 2nd floor of the old building, Room E2060.
When do I need to pay for my class? All Continuing Education courses require payment on registration (unless otherwise indicated).  Accepted forms of payment include:  cash, check and credit cards.

How do I get on the mailing list for Continuing Education information?

How much does an average course cost, along with books and materials?
Our credit-based course costs are the same as those of the traditional part of the college; non-credit course costs are based on instruction and materials costs and vary depending on the  discipline.  There may be additional fees for specialized programs that require clothing, equipment and supplies.   All costs are clearly presented before any training begins.

What is a CEU?
A CEU is a Continuing Education Unit – many courses offered through Continuing Education offer contact hours and CEUs, i.e. 4 contact hours = .4 CEUs.  All courses offer a certificate of completion with these noted on them.

As a new manager, what type of training would be most valuable to me?
Leadership and communication skills are vital to any manager. As a new manager, training opportunities for skill development in these two areas would be most beneficial.  Developing time-management skills and keeping current on computer skills can contribute to a manager’s efficiency.

I became a Certified Nursing Assistant years ago but it has been several years since I was employed. I am now interested in returning to this field. Are there any specific requirements I need to meet?
If a twenty-four (24) month period goes by in which you are not employed (part-time or full-time) as a Nursing Assistant, your status changes. You then have two (2) choices:
1. You may re-take the Nursing Assistant Exam. You have three (3) chances to pass it. If you pass, you will again be eligible to have your name placed on the Nursing Assistant Registry. If you fail all three (3) times, you must enroll in a state-approved nursing assistant training program, complete the program, and register again for testing; OR
2. You may enroll in a state-approved nursing assistant training program, complete the program, and register again for testing.
