Professional nursing

To become a registered nurse (RN), apply to one of the 64-credit professional nursing programs.

Become an LSC student

  • Before you begin the LSC nursing application, apply and become an LSC student, if you have not already done so.
  • Important: You must declare your academic program of interest to apply to a nursing program. You can do this when you apply to LSC or by meeting with an advisor. Choose:
    • Practical Nursing (to become an LPN)
    • Nursing (to become an RN)
  • Note: Nursing Assistant Certificate / CNA is required for Practical Nursing diploma and Professional Nursing AS. It is not required for the Military Medic or LPN track programs.

Complete all "pre-program" requirements / courses specified in your program guide.

Review pre-program requirements in the program guide including:

  • English
  • Reading

Apply while attending pre-program classes?

Professional nursing applicants must have completed all pre-program classes before applying.

Practical nursing applicants may apply while attending pre-program classes. However, all pre-program requirements must be met before the program starts.
