Lake Superior College Alumni Association Seeks Members

(Duluth, Minn.) - The Lake Superior College Alumni Association has been re-activated after a several year hiatus.  The LSC Alumni Association is made up of former students of the college, regardless of when they attended or for how long. Its goal is to serve and expand the existing alumni pool by providing programs and events that will maintain a tie between the college and its alumni.

"As the saying goes, 'Once a grad, always an alum,' "said Dave Boe, alumni committee chair.  "One may have attended the college only two years.  That is two years that changes one's life.  We're excited to hear back from former students and find out what role Lake Superior College had in their professional and personal successes."

Former students of the following colleges are eligible to join the Alumni Association:

Lake Superior College (1995 - present)
Duluth Technical College (1989 - 1995)
Duluth Community College Center (1989 - 1995
Duluth Technical Institute (1987 - 1989)
Duluth Area Vocational Technical Institute (1972 - 1987)
Duluth Area Institute of Technology (1968 - 1972)
Salter School (1946 - 1968)

"Lake Superior College today is much different from the college of 1995, the year I graduated, or from 1985 or 1965," said Boe.  "Many former students, like me, will be interested in reconnecting with the college to find out how it has changed over the years.  The Alumni Association gives them that opportunity."

The initial goal of the association is to invite people to fill out the alumni profile at the college's website.  "There will be opportunities to join the Alumni Association Leadership Committee, volunteer for special events, attend workshops or activities at the campus, or donate time and expertise for seminars or presentations," said Boe.

People interested in contacting the Alumni Association can email alumniassoc@lsc.edu, call 218-733-7680 or go to the alumni link at www.lsc.edu
