The Lake Superior College Dental Hygiene Program offers a 2 year Associate in Applied Science degree program that prepares students to enter the dental hygiene profession where there are opportunities in private dental offices, schools, clinics, hospitals, education, public health and corporate settings. One year of pre-requisite college courses and a job shadowing experience is necessary for admission, 20 students are admitted to the program each fall. The program has an on-site clinic facility where students gain clinical experience working with patients. Students also have the opportunity to pursue advanced degrees after graduating through articulation agreements with other colleges and universities.

Program Accreditation:
The program for dental hygiene is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (and has been granted the accreditation status of "approval without reporting requirements"). The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education.
