Satellite Services at LSC

LSC has three satellite dishes; two are moveable and one is fixed. The two movable satellites are capable of tuning to C and KU bands. The third dish is fixed on MnSAT?s satellite space. These satellites feed into our local cable distribution system on campus. Most classrooms have access to the cable distribution system.

To request a satellite broadcast:

1. Get coordinates from the broadcast entity
2. Forward coordinates to ITV/AV. Contact: Bill Berg 733-5946
3. If requesting a specific room, contact room scheduling, Academic Affairs, Peggy Gustofson, 733-7693.
4. Once the room is booked ITV/AV will tell you which channel your broadcast will appear on.
5. The channels that are used for satellite are;
   
• Analog on channel 16
• Digital on channel 17
• MnSat on channel 18
6. When satellites are not used for a conference you can find channel 16 tuned to CSPAN2 and channel 17 tuned to a music station, and channel 18 will either be a feed from the Annenberg (PBS) Project or Minnesota legislature when in session

We also have Cable TV in-house which is available on most TV?s in the classrooms. Channel 2 is LSC?s information channel; class cancellations and daily important facts are displayed on this channel.
