Assessments

The Center provides the following assessments to assist students in making career choices:

CareerScope - This computer-based assessment measures both aptitude and interest, helping people choose appropriate careers.

CEI - Career Exploration - Designed to help students explore three areas of life - work, leisure and education/learning, providing direction on incorporating them into career selection.

Self-directed Search - A self assessment guide for career planning, based on six occupational codes.

Strong Interest Inventory - A guide for career change and development, it measures interests.

Myers-Briggs Personality Inventory - A personality type inventory designed to explore preferences in career search strategies.

There are also free career assessments on-line. The following have been rated as "very useful" in exploring career options:

personal.ansir.com - This 168 question three part self perception test provides you with insight into your styles of thinking, working and emoting. Takes about 30 minutes and is easy to use.

careermaze.com - An on-line tool designed for people to find their future career by increasing self-knowledge. Has you choose from among 2 sets of 82 characteristics.

jvis.com - This is a tool developed to assist high school and adults with educational and career planning. It contains 289 pairs of job related activities. It takes approximately 45 minutes.

typefocus.com - Quick and easy 66 question assessment that tells your Myers-Briggs type and offers a bit of career direction.
