Off - Campus Access to Library Databases

You must have an active Lake Superior College Library card (the barcode on the back of your LSC student ID) in order to access databases from off campus. If you do not have a library barcode, come into the library to get one or use the Request a Library Barcode link on the library home page.

To access databases from off campus, return to the Library Home page and click on any of the database links in the left-hand column.  Your choices are A to Z, Ebsco, Infotrac, CINAHL, etc

You will be taken to an Authentication Required screen which looks like this:

Enter your library barcode number.

1.      Type everything carefully. Your barcode is 14 digits beginning with 21276...

2.      Proxy access will not work if you try to access the sites from a location with a institutional firewall (such as from your place of employment). The product will work on your home computer if you use a personal firewall product (i.e. MacAfee or Symantec), but you may have to change the security level.

3.      You must be a currently enrolled student at Lake Superior College and must have an active library account. If you have any enrollment or library holds on your records your account maybe temporarily inactive. Please call the library main number if necessary.
