Off-campus Access to Library Databases

Search the databases for journal articles under FIND RESOURCES on the library homepage. This provides a subject list of the library's databases. When you click on databases you'd like to search, you will be taken to an Authentication screen which looks like this:

Enter your 14-digit library barcode number (21276000...) and password (your last name).

If you do not have a library barcode, come into the library to get one or use the Request a Library Barcode link on the library home page. NOTE: Request a barcode link is for ONLINE ONLY students.

1. Type everything carefully.
2. Proxy access will not work if you try to access the sites from a location with a institutional firewall (such as from your place of employment).
3. The product will work on your home computer if you use a personal firewall product (i.e. MacAfee or Symantec), but you may have to change the security level to allow cookies. To change the security level, go to the Tools link on your computer's taskbar, select "Internet Options" to find the "Privacy" tab.
4. You must be a currently enrolled student at Lake Superior College and must have an active library account. If you have any enrollment or library holds on your records your account maybe temporarily inactive. Please call the library main number if necessary.
