The Ordean Foundation provides scholarships for qualifying Duluth residents enrolled in one of the following medical programs. Please note that you must be enrolled in the technical part of your program. Enrollment in pre-technical courses does not qualify.
Associate Degree Nursing Dental Hygiene Diagnostic Medical Sonography Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician Massage Therapy Medical Assistant Medical Laboratory Technician Medical Secretary
Nursing Assistant (3 credit) Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aid Phlebotomy Physical Therapist Assistant Practical Nursing Radiologic Technology Respiratory Care Practitioner Surgical Technology

The student must be a resident of one of the following areas and must have lived in that area for at least one year out of the past three years for purposes other than attending a postsecondary school:

First priority is given to independent students who have received a 2009-2010 financial aid award letter and have submitted a completed application prior to July 15, 2009. All others will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Students who qualify for an Ordean Grant may receive up to $1,000 per semester or the total cost of tuition, fees and books whichever is less.
If you receive WIA (Workforce Investment Act), DRS or other agency funding to cover your costs, the Business Services Office will charge against the agency funding first. Only remaining charges, if any, can be charged against the Ordean Grant.
