- The Finance Committee will no longer be taking requests for excess non-personnel funds.
As you know the state budget is in bad shape. Lake Superior College will be adversely affected by the upcoming cuts. As of now LSC's budget for FY03 has been reduced by approximately $500,000. The same, if not more, is expected for FY04 when the Governor comes out with his proposals in mid to late February to address the $4.5 billion deficit the state is now facing.
The Finance Committee has voted to roll over all non-personnel fund balances in each department from this year to next - both positive balances and negative balances. It may be a good idea to try to conserve as much as possible of this year's non-personnel funds as there could very well be across-the-board cuts to next years non-personnel fund allocations. - Connie Moeller's request for $995 to purchase the Oxford English Dictionary was approved.
