New Students:
Steps to Registration and Classes
As a new student at LSC, there are many steps to get you into classes on the first day of the semester. We have provided a list of steps you will need to complete prior to the start of classes. If at any time you have any questions, please stop by the Student Services Center or call 218-733-7601 for any assistance you may need.
- Take the placement test - This will determine if you are ready to start your program.
- Sign up for SOAR: Student Orientation and Registration.
- Fill out the Time Survey prior to SOAR - You will not be allowed into the registration session without first completing the survey.
- Attend SOAR - This is where you will sign up for classes.
- Apply for Financial Aid.
- Apply for Student Loans.
- Pay Tuition.
- Buy Books.
- Attend the New Student Welcome Day.
- Print off a new schedule two days prior to the start of class.
- Print off a campus map.
- Check your LSC email account.
- Attend classes.
