Transfer Questions
Transferring to a new instutition can be a simple process if you ask the right questions. Below are questions you will want to ask as you look to transfer to another institution.
- What are the deadlines I need to be aware of?
Examples: Application, priority admission, housing, registratin, scholarships - Can I arrange to meet with an advisor or faculty member in my program of interest?
- What are the criteria/factors considered in admissions?
- Is there a foreign language or math requirement for admissions?For the major?
- What are the Pre-major requirements for my intended program?
Example: Is there work that can be done concurrently with the Associate of Arts degree? - In recent years, what has been the average GPA of admitted students vs. the published minimum?
- How competitive is this program?
- Are there specific courses I have to take at this school that cannot be transferred in?What are your transfer policies on:
- AP scores?
- "D" grades?
- CLEP?
- Does my GPA transfer or just the credits?
- What does my completion rate need to be?
