Admissions - International Students

International Student Application Information

Items needed for Admission

International applicants (new or transfer) who are not permanent residents or citizens of the United States may be considered for admission after submission of the following:

  1. Completed Lake Superior College application for admission
  2. Non-refundable $20.00 (US) application fee
  3. Official copy of high school transcript (must be equivalent to a United States high school transcript.)
  4. Proof of high school graduation must be provided.
  5. Proof of English proficiency 
  6. Financial Certificate
  7. F-1 visa issued by the U.S. Consulate or Immigration and Naturalization Service.
  8. Proof of health insurance and means to be evacuated.

Tuition & Fees

International Students pay the resident tuition rate of $142.04 per credit (includes fees). 

Estimated Expenses for a Full Academic Year based on the 2008-2009 academic year:

Tuition, based on 15 credits per semester ($142.04 per credit): $4,261.20

Other Expenses (room, board, books, etc.): $14,000.00 

TOTAL (for tuition and other expenses): $18,261.20

Health Insurance

International students must provide proof of health insurance and means to be evacuated.  All international students and visiting scholars engaged in educational activities are required to purchase the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities international student accident and illness insurance plan, unless they can provide written verification that their government or sponsoring agency accepts full responsibility for any medical claims that might occur.
