Application Process

What do I need to send in with my application?

Lake Superior College application for admission 
$20.00 application fee (non-refundable)
Official copy of High School transcript or GED test scores (if high school diploma or GED was obtained in the past five years)
Official copies of any and all previous college transcripts.  (Official transcripts must arrive at LSC in a sealed envelope directly from the institution you have previously attended or they are not official.)

Do I need to take the ACT to be accepted at LSC?

No, you do not need to take the ACT or SAT test to be accepted. If you did take your ACT?s and scored a 24 in reading, English and math you would be exempt from the Placement Testing.

Do I need a high school diploma or GED to attend Lake Superior College?

If you do not have a high school diploma or equivalent, you may still attend if meet the ability to benefit standards on the placement test. Please contact the Student Services Center at enroll@lsc.edu for more information.

How do I check the status of my application?

If it has been more than two weeks since you submitted your application and you have not hear from us, please contact the Enrollment Services Center at enroll@lsc.edu

How do I find out if there is a waiting list for the program that I want?

Please contact Student Services at enroll@lsc.edu regarding potential waiting lists for any of our programs.

How will I know if I've been accepted at LSC?

Once you have completed the application process you will receive an accepted student packet. Included in your packet will be instructions as to what steps you need to complete prior to registering for classes.

Is there a deadline for my application?

Yes, the deadline would be one week prior to the start of semester you wish to begin. Applications for admission are accepted year-round; however, many of our career/occupational programs fill up quickly. Therefore, you are encouraged to file your application well in advance of the semester you wish to enroll. Acceptance to the college does not automatically guarantee your admission into a specific program. Some career/occupational programs utilize a waiting list and/or selection process.

If my transcripts and application fee come separate from my application, does that matter?

No, it does not however; your application status will be incomplete until everything is received.

When should I apply for financial aid?

It is recommended that you apply for financial aid at the same time you apply to LSC. By doing so early, your financial aid would be available to pay for your tuition, fees & books prior to the start of the semester. To cover the total cost of your tuition, fees and books, you might have to take out a student loan.

How do I apply for financial aid?

You are encouraged to file your application for financial aid online. This will allow for faster and more accurate processing. Please visit our Financial Aid website for more details.

I was suspended from another school, can I come to LSC?

If you have been suspended from another college or University you may need to appeal your suspension and be granted acceptance to enter LSC.
