1. Lake Superior College application for admission.  You can apply online OR fill out a paper application.
2. $20 application fee (non-refundable)
3. Transcripts from high school, GED, or HSED.  If diploma achieved more than 5 years ago, you do not need to submit a transcript.

Lake Superior College does not require an ACT or SAT for admission.  However, an ACT score of 24 or higher in Reading, Math, or English can exempt a student from one or all three portions of the Accuplacer Placement Test.  Please click on the Accuplacer Placement Test link for more information.
Application deadlines are the Friday before the start of the term at 4 p.m.  Late applicants are encouraged to file applications in person.  Admission to the college does not automatically guarantee your spot into a specific program.  Some career programs utilize a waiting list and/or selection process.

Admission Requirements
Lake Superior College considers all applicants, regardless of religious affiliation, race, ethnic heritage, gender, age, sexual orientation, or physical ability.  In order to be considered for admission, a student must submit all required documentation and one of the following:

1. Have graduated or will graduate from high school
2. Have earned a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED)
3. Pass the placement test by meeting the Ability to Benefit standards

In addition to the above items, students must complete the application process as outlined above.  Acceptance to the college does not ensure acceptance to individual programs as requirements vary.  Academic performance at former colleges may affect a student's ability to be admitted to LSC. Please see Admissions Undergraduate Procedure 3.4.1 .

Transcripts

All applicants are required to submit:

1. Official high school transcripts if diploma achieved in the past 5 years.  If you earned a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), submit official transcript which includes the test results.
2. Official transcripts from all previous postsecondary institutions attended.  This includes any college credit earned in high school.
Please note: Official postsecondary institution transcripts must arrive at LSC in a sealed envelope directly from the institution.  If you are transferring credits from another MnSCU institution, you do not need to request transcripts to be sent from those schools.  LSC admissions staff will electronically retrieve your transcripts after you apply for admission saving you time and money.
Please note: If you did not leave your former college(s) in good standing, that may affect your ability to be admitted to Lake Superior College.  Please see Admissions Undergraduate Procedure 3.4.1 Part 6 subpart A for detailed information.

Next Step

Once you're accepted into Lake Superior College, your next step for enrollment will be to participate in a Student Orientation, Accuplacer and Registration (SOAR) session.  You must have completed your application and been accepted to LSC before you can sign up for a SOAR session.
